How to use the checklist

Go through each item honestly and tick it only when it is fully true for your site. Your progress is saved in this browser, so you can come back after making changes. The checklist reflects what Google’s programme policies and rejection messages ask for; it cannot guarantee approval, because the final decision always rests with Google.

Why these items?

Content items reflect the most common rejection reason, low value content. Our guide on what low value content means explains it in depth. Trust items show visitors and reviewers who runs the site and how their data is handled. Navigation and technical items make sure reviewers can actually reach and use your pages. Policy items cover issues that can block approval or lead to problems later. Setup items cover the mechanics of connecting your site.

The item people skip: time and visitors

Recent rejection notices mention ongoing curation and genuine user interest. A brand-new site with no visitors may be rejected even if everything else is in place. Publishing regularly for a few weeks and building real traffic from search and social makes a real difference.

After you tick everything

Request a review from the AdSense Sites page. While you wait, keep improving your site. If you are rejected, read the reason carefully, fix it properly, and wait a little before requesting another review. Our guide to what AdSense reviewers check gives more detail on each area.

Frequently asked questions

Does completing the checklist guarantee approval?

No. It covers the basics Google publicly asks for, but Google makes the final decision based on its own review.

Is ads.txt required for AdSense approval?

Google recommends it, and adding it early avoids an “Earnings at risk” alert after approval.

Are my ticks stored on your server?

No. They are saved only in your browser’s local storage.
