AdSense “Low value content”: what it really means and how to fix it

By the ads-txt.in team · Published November 8, 2026

“Low value content” is the rejection reason AdSense applicants see most often. The message is short, and it does not list specific pages, which leaves many site owners guessing. Here is what it usually means in practice.

What Google is asking for

The rejection notice asks for sites that provide authentic, high-quality information, tools or services, show ongoing curation and maintenance, and generate genuine user interest. In other words, Google wants a site that is useful in its own right and that people actually visit, not a site that exists mainly to carry ads.

Common causes

  • Thin pages. Short posts that answer little, or tool pages with no explanation.
  • Nothing new. Content that repeats what thousands of other sites say, rewritten or generated in bulk, with no original examples, data or experience.
  • Too new and too quiet. A site launched days ago, with few indexed pages and almost no visitors, has not yet shown “genuine user interest”.
  • Templates and placeholders. Empty categories, “lorem ipsum”, demo content from a theme, or pages under construction.
  • Navigation problems. Broken links, missing menus or pages that are hard to reach.

What helps

  1. Find a clear purpose. Decide whom the site serves and what it offers that others do not. A focused niche is easier to make genuinely useful.
  2. Add depth. Expand pages with real examples, screenshots, step-by-step instructions, comparisons and answers to follow-up questions.
  3. Show who is behind it. An About page with a real name or business, a working contact method, and clear policies build trust.
  4. Get indexed and visited. Submit your sitemap in Google Search Console, fix any indexing problems, and share your best pages where your audience already gathers.
  5. Keep improving. Publish and update regularly for a few weeks so the site shows ongoing maintenance.
  6. Clean up. Remove or improve weak pages instead of leaving them for reviewers to find.

When to request review

Requesting review again immediately, without real changes, usually produces the same result. Give your improvements time to be crawled and to attract visitors. Use our AdSense approval checklist to track the basics, and remember that no checklist can guarantee approval; the decision rests with Google.
