How to add a custom ads.txt in Blogger

By the ads-txt.in team · Published November 8, 2026

Blogger does not let you upload files to the root of your blog, but it has a built-in setting for ads.txt. You can turn on a custom file and paste your lines directly.

Steps

  1. Sign in to Blogger and choose your blog.
  2. Open Settings from the left menu.
  3. Scroll to the Monetization section.
  4. Turn on Enable custom ads.txt.
  5. Click Custom ads.txt, paste the contents of your file and save.

You can create the contents with our ads.txt generator.

Include your AdSense line

When your AdSense account is linked to Blogger, Blogger may serve a default ads.txt file automatically. Once you enable a custom file, your custom contents are used instead. Make sure your own Google line is included:

google.com, pub-1234567890123456, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Then add the lines for any other ad networks you use.

Blogs on a custom domain

If your blog uses a custom domain such as www.example.com, ad systems request example.com/ads.txt on the root domain. Make sure your domain setup redirects the root domain to the www version, which Blogger offers as a setting when you connect a custom domain. Otherwise the root domain may not serve the file.

Check it

Visit https://yourblog.blogspot.com/ads.txt or your custom domain’s address and confirm the text appears. Then run our ads.txt checker to confirm that it returns HTTP 200 and that every line is valid.

Tip

Keep a copy of your ads.txt contents in a document. If you ever turn the custom setting off and on, or move the blog, you can restore it quickly.
